Royal Ascot VIP Guide: How to Experience the World's Most Glamorous Race Meeting

Royal Ascot: Five Days of World-Class Racing and Unmatched Spectacle

Royal Ascot is unlike any other horse racing meeting in the world. Five days in mid-June at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire, Royal Ascot combines Group 1 flat racing of the highest quality with the most formally dressed crowd in sport, the attendance of the British Royal Family, and a social atmosphere that has defined British summer since the meeting was founded by Queen Anne in 1711.

For VIP guests, Royal Ascot is a uniquely complete experience: the racing is genuinely world-class (the Royal Meeting features some of the most valuable flat races in Europe), the social scene is unparalleled in British sport, and the hospitality infrastructure — from the Royal Enclosure to private boxes — is exceptional.

Royal Ascot Enclosures Explained

Royal Ascot operates through a strict enclosure system that determines where guests can access within the racecourse:

Royal Enclosure — the most exclusive area, requiring a formal application process (applicants must be sponsored by an existing Royal Enclosure member). Dress code: morning suits for men, formal hats and dresses for women. The Royal Enclosure is the only area from which the Royal Procession can be viewed at close quarters.

Queen Anne Enclosure — the next tier, providing access to excellent grandstand facilities without the application requirement of the Royal Enclosure. Dress code applies (smart, hats for women encouraged).

Village Enclosure — a large, more casual area with a festival atmosphere and good racing views.

For hospitality guests, the specific enclosure access included in your package determines where you can move freely throughout the day.

Ladies' Day at Royal Ascot — The Most Glamorous Day

Ladies' Day — traditionally held on the Thursday of Royal Ascot week — is the most glamorous and socially significant day of the meeting. The fashion competition among female guests reaches its peak on Ladies' Day, with extraordinary hat and dress creations creating a spectacle alongside the racing.

For VIP hospitality on Ladies' Day, early booking is absolutely essential. Ladies' Day packages sell out faster than any other day at Royal Ascot and typically carry a small premium over the equivalent Thursday package at other meetings.

Corporate hospitality on Ladies' Day is particularly popular — the day's social significance makes it ideal for entertaining guests for whom the social occasion is as important as the racing itself. Contact our team early to discuss Ladies' Day VIP availability.
